Semira Semino-Asaro, PhD, RN, PMHCNS-BC joined the School of Nursing faculty in January, 2015. Along with her husband and three sons, she moved to San Diego from the Boston area a year ago. The entire family is avid swimmers and the SD weather allows them to pursue this hobby on a daily basis. Dr. Asaro worked as a nurse educator prior to pursuing doctoral study, recently finishing her PhD at University of Massachusetts Boston. Her research interests are focused on infant-parent mental health.
Dr. Asaro is very glad to be back in the classroom working with students again and has really enjoyed getting to know MEPN students this past spring and in the ‘Care of the Family’ Course this summer. She values the diverse educational backgrounds and experiences MEPN students bring to their nursing studies and looks forward to hearing about their future successes!
